Bomb Wave

I recently had one of the best surf sessions I’ve had in a LONG time.  By “best” I mean most satisfying… stoke-inducing… I don’t know.  If you haven’t surfed, it’s hard to translate the feeling.

Just think of what activity turns you on the most & think of the BEST session you’ve ever had of that activity.  A time that, when you think about it 2 weeks later, still has you excited.

(I realize where you may be headed with the above exercise, but let’s move on. Perv.)

As I’ve processed what it was about this session that made it so special, I realized there are 2 lessons that can be applied to life & business.

1) Big steps of faith reap big rewards

This day was big. Big enough to make an experienced surfer’s heart race.

“May heaven describe you as one of those rare people who live to achieve Great Things for the glory of God.”

That’s the closing sentence of Bruce Wilkinson’s The Dream Giver. Read it again slowly.

“May heaven describe you as one of those RARE people who live to achieve Great Things for the glory of God.”

It truly IS a rare thing, isn’t it?

To know someone — ANYone — who is unquestionably living their Dream, achieving tremendous success in this life, and radiating Christlike-ness every step of the way.

That’s my life’s mission: To qualify as that rare breed, and to help others qualify as well.

A while ago, I heard the brilliant Ken Glickman paint the following picture of life… Read the rest of this entry…

About a year ago, I heard through the grapevine about this “short sale kid” in Florida who was making well over $100,000 a month flipping short sales.

The rumors were THICK: “there’s this phenom KID.. he sleeps in.. he plays video games.. he BARELY works.. and he does over $100 GRAND/month because he has this amazing system in his business.”

Like the guy in this video, I immediately called B.S. …

… but like the guy in this video, I was proven very wrong.

In October I was visiting my friend Andrew in Tampa & we went to Relevant Church on Sunday.

Ever since I completed Eben Pagan’s Wake Up Productive training, I’ve been fascinated by this idea of the “morning success ritual” as it relates to productivity in life.

(Eben is one of my business mentors & if you haven’t checked out his program, I highly recommend it.)

The “morning ritual” idea seems counter-intuitive at first… spending valuable time first thing in the morning on things that don’t necessarily produce tangible results.

For example, Eben spends at least 2 hours every single day on things like stretching, positive affirmations, making a smoothie (ingredients to remain top secret), and the particularly brow-raising ritual of warm water sinus rinsing.

That’s before he ever THINKS about doing a single work-related task. And this guy runs a $24 Million a year business with 108 employees (all working from home, by the way)!

But it’s precisely these types of rituals — accomplished during the most important part of the day — that prep your mind for maximum performance when it IS time to work.

I’m popping in quickly from Tampa, Florida and Dan Stojadinovic’s 4th Hype-Free “Internet Marketing and Joint Ventures Bootcamp.”

Dan is President of the Tampa Bay real estate investors’ association, and I’m blessed to know him and have the opportunity to speak regularly at his events.

Dan Stojadinovic

Teaching real estate investors how to add a profit stream through internet marketing has become Dan’s passion. And in an economy where seminar-holders are SERIOUSLY struggling to fill rooms, Dan has again pulled off a tremendously successful seminar.

I consider this an extreme testiment to the credo that:

Your biggest asset is your list (.. of prospects, buyers, etc) and the real opportunity is in your relationship with that list.

I recently ran a survey of 500 real estate investors in the U.S. (mainly wholesalers) and almost HALF said the #1 challenge they’re facing right now is finding buyers.

If you’re in that boat, I feel you.

Here are some quick tips for you…

1. Flat Fee MLS Listings

Most wholesalers never think of this!

I got an email from Dennis in Portland last week that said:

“Help Andy! Some perspective… I can only handle one new thing at a time… my head is almost swimming!”

Dennis, I hear you brother. :-) And I have an answer.

As a real estate investor in such a volatile economy it’s either “keep up” or “call it quits” … and I don’t know about you, but I’m passionately committed to keeping up.

The *PROBLEM* is that it’s HARD to keep up (especially during the busy holiday season), when:

1. It seems like there are new, breakthrough investment tactics surfacing all the time (like web 2.0 marketing) ..

2. New can’t-miss education becomes available on a near-weekly basis (like last week’s awesome “short sale success blueprint”) ..

3. Your local REIA is more like a depression support group ..

I hope you had a refreshing holiday yesterday.

I’m recovering from the 12th annual Turkey Bowl, a hilarious 14-man Thanksgiving flag football debacle that only lasts about 45 minutes.

(… which is apparently the upper threshold of endurance for the average 28 to 35 year-old former athlete’s body)

My blog posts have been few & far between lately and there’s one reason for that …

I just spent 14 days very much “in the business” coordinating the BIGGEST online event/fundraiser the real estate investing industry has ever seen.

Colin Egbert (of RealEstateInvestor.com) and I were able to pull together 26 of the biggest real estate experts in the United States to help raise $25,000 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital ..

.. AND to hook up two lucky investors with a chance to walk away with $65,000 in life-changing real estate tools & resources.
