If you’re not a Christian, try to step back right now & look at this man, Jesus, again.

Try to drop any preconceptions, any hurt you’ve experienced, anything you think you know about what it means to be a Christian. Wipe the slate clean & take a fresh look.

To be a Christian simply means to be a follower of the way laid out by Jesus Christ. To accept this lifestyle is to accept life in it’s fullest & free-est.

It’s not about dressing up & sitting through boring church services. It’s not about rules. It’s not about religion.

It’s about believing that this man, Jesus, is who he said he was.

Son of God. The Way, the Truth, the Life. Fully human, fully divine. King of kings. Savior of this world. Sad when you’re sad, happy when you’re happy. Absolute lover of your soul.

It’s about seeing him for who he is. It’s about seeing yourself as who you are. It’s about hope. It’s about light instead of darkness. About life instead of death.

I hate cliches, but Jesus had to be either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord as he claimed to be. There are no other options. You can’t accept Him partly.

Which do you believe?

If he wasn’t a liar & he wasn’t crazy, are your thoughts, words, and actions in sync with the only other option.. that He’s Lord of all.

I’m happy to say that I, too, am a believer in Jesus Christ. It says a lot about you, Andy, for letting us know. If we are ashamed to own him before men, he will not own us before His Father.

    Dear Andy,

Got an email by asking about some information somewhere, which led me to your blog. Got here, and found a Brother in Christ! Wonderful!

To any who stumble upon this and don’t know Christ as Lord,

you have no idea what JOY is until you know… that you know… that you know, how much God truly loves you and came down as a human being to pay the ultimate price, so that you could go to heaven and spend eternity fellowshipping with Him!

To understand how Good the Good News is, you need to know the bad news. God created man in His own image. God loved man and man was His daily delight. God warned Adam and Eve that if they sinned (rebelled against God’s will) by eating the one forbidden fruit in the garden, they would die.

Spiritual death came immediately, but physical death was gradual. Aging, sickness, death and decay resulted. The wages of sin is death, (Rom. 6:23), but none of us can pay those wages without remaining dead = separated from God eternally!

That means eternity in hell! Yes folks, there really is a hell. It was never meant for us. It was created for the Devil and his fallen angels (demons). There is absolutely nothing we can do to avoid it by works. There are no amount of “good works” we can do to earn back the blessing God meant for us to have in His presence, because our sinful nature makes all of our works like filthy rags to God, and a Holy God cannot be in the presence of sin. Our only hope is that a substitute could be made… but how?

All throughout the Bible is one story after another how God came down to man and spoke to him, tried to renew fellowship with Him and how man repeatedly rejected God over and over. It’s a heart-breaking story, but it has a happy ending!

The sinful nature is inherited throughout all generations of mankind, because the only way to pay the price for acquittal is through the death of a sinless man. No one else could pay the price for other men.

God loves us so much, that even though generations of people have rejected Him and used His name in shameful ways, and lied about Him, and done evil in His name without His approval, He still longed for fellowship with us to the extent of being willing to pay the price for us.

So… the Creator of the Universe, through whom all things (including us) were made, left His throne of glory, and humbled himself to be born as a man, and to live among us, suffering rejection by us up close and personally, along with persecution, and lies, and rumors, and disparaging stories that had no basis, and finally scourging, a mockery of a trial, spitting in His face, more mocking, and humiliation, being stripped bare naked and forced to carry the heavy instrument of His own execution through the streets of people screaming for the release of a murderer over Himself!

Here was God, fully God, come down in the form of a man, fully man… a mystery that’s very difficult for us to even comprehend, who CHOSE to lay His life down.
They tried to kill Him many times during His ministry. They couldn’t! He CHOSE to lay His life down!

So… He gave up His life, and died, and the curse of sin died with that death, FOR ALL AND ANY WHO WOULD CHOOSE TO RECEIVE THAT GIFT!

He died not only for the sins at that time, but for all sin, for all the ages! Every single time you blow it again, if you have accepted His salvation, you have the privilege to approach His throne and to ask for forgiveness, and He promised to give it to you!

The great exchange is free, but not without a price. If you accept His death in place of yours, you accept His being Lord and to live His life in place of yours. You must make Him Lord. The great news is, He has an incredible plan for your life! No matter how you’ve messed up your life, no matter how old you are, you can still accept His forgiveness, and He has a plan for you!

He is the King of Kings, and as His Son or Daughter (which you become when you accept His gift), you become Royalty in God’s family! You gain an inheritance! You are promised gifts from His spirit that He will flow through you to bless others and lead them to this salvation too.

What’s our role then? To share the good news of His salvation to all mankind! To tell the truth of His goodness and expose the lies of the devil.

There is not enough room to explain the glorious and wonderful adventure it is to follow Christ and to really submit to His plan for your life! It’s not always easy, but it’s the most exciting, most fulfilling adventure you could ever live!

If you don’t know Him, just tell Him now, “Jesus, I know I’ve sinned and I cannot earn my way to heaven. I know you paid the price for me on the cross, and that it’s a free gift. I choose to accept that gift and to make you Lord over my life!” If you prayed that prayer, you became “Born Again” into God’s family. You are now a child of the King and have inherited everything that goes with that!

Now, you need to get into God’s Word. It is God speaking to us (to you) and you need to find a good, Bible-based church that teaches His Word. If you don’t know where to start, pray about it and look for a loving church where you see the fruits of his Kingdom expressed (love, joy, hope, etc.) and make sure everything they teach is from the Word of God… the Bible!

While you look for a church home, may I offer and suggest that you check out http://www.pastorjerry.com and you can download free messages that will change your life! I recommend that you begin with the Series entitled, “Being Right With God”. It’s an 8 message series that will explain in detail what I’ve just touched on here, and give you a great foundation in your new walk with Christ.

If you haven’t accepted Him yet, because you still want to know more… this series will help you to know all you need to make a decision, knowing what Christ did for you, and what He expects from you.

We are facing some really scary times as we come into the last days. All the prophecies about the last days are coming together and being fulfilled right in front of our eyes! It won’t be long before Christ returns! Now is the time to be sure you are on the winning side before the battle begins!

May God bless you on your journey with Him!

For Catholics, Andy, it is most definitely about attending church and participating in the eucharist, weekly or daily, which is the center of Catholic life. It is about the rules: the 10 Commandments and the Great Commandments of our Lord. It is about daily prayer and the frequent reception of the sacrament of reconciliation.Catholics cannot be good Catholics without practicing and participating in the details.

    Hey Andy!

My wife and I were going through the old yearbooks yesterday and in the note you wrote in the back you included the verse: “By humility and fear of the Lord are riches, and wisdom, and life.” (Proverbs 22:4)

When I read that, I thought it would be fitting addition to your blog here!

    Many Blessings Good Friend!

  18. Keith McClain Says:

My man, Andy. That was so profound that you spoke those words. When we look at all the things going inn the world today, the word says their will be wars, and rumors of wars, and the worse is yet to come. But as believers of God, we can take comfort in knowing that, Jesus died so that we may live, and be with him when he returns, for eternity. We must be examples of his mercy and goodness, and to Love all of our fellow men and women just as he did. May you continue in your walk with Christ and Please continue blessing us with your knowledge of real estate. Very beneficial indeed.
    God Bless you my brother,

    Keith

Jesus, was a man, just like you and just like me except for one thing, he had much stronger inner game. He was a son of God, but so is everyone. If you understand the way life really works you understand this. If you are a “religious” person (someone who follows mans’ rules rather than Gods) this will offend you if you are a spiritual person then you already know what i am telling you.
